R50/53 Thanks to all
I just picked up my new MCS in Louisiana and I wanted to thank everyone here at MCO. Reading these messages helped me decide on a color, options etc. And, I was able to install the AUX input with a minimum of fuss before the long drive back to California. How did we ever get anything done before the internet?
Aw, minihune, you fell for my facetious post comment! Because of this thread I did a while back I have been given the unofficial title of the 'aux port guru' of MCO. I more or less forgot about that thread until I ordered some more goodies from Classic MINI a couple weeks back. Seems there was a bit of a run on parcel shelves and aux jacks ordered together. It was such a natural combination. Seeing the amount of hits that topic got was surprising! I love my parcel shelf and recommend it to anyone.
And yes, Iago, you should share pics of your new car. Even though everyone here knows what they look like, we never seem to tire of looking at 'em!

My ’03 MCS is Indi Blue/White, with the Sport Package. I'd post a pic if I knew how.
The trip out was fun – and funny. Lot’s of heads were turning. Others, pointing their fingers and oohing and aahing with their friends. People waving. And of course, all the folks who’d ask about the car when I was filling up the tank: “What kind of mileage do you get?” “How fast can that go?”
It never got old.
One snag was the black plastic trim over the top edge of the windshield flew off somewhere in west Texas. The car is at the dealership now getting a new one glued on. Has this happened to anyone else?
Also, for anyone who’s interested, the Belkin TuneDok Car Holder for the iPod worked out nicely in the Mini-Fini cup holder.
Take Care All!

>>Yes, Iago! My windshield molding flew off on my roadtrip and was replaced under warranty. Apparently a batch was built with either inferior adhesive or no adhesive
That's what the folks at the service department told me today. The glued a new one on and I was back on the road this evening.
-and CooperBeagle it's ee-ah-go

Congrats on the new car. This site is a wealth of information. Oh before the internet most people got this type of help from car clubs. Check out the ones in your area if you are interested. SoCal Mini Maniacs, MINI Owners of America Los Angeles for Southern California (I don't know if there is one in San Diego County). If you are in Northern California there is Mini Owners of America - San Francisco and there is another one but I don't remember what its name is.

That is soooo true! I had never really thought about that but as soon as I read yer post I realized that I too have to look at every picture of every MINI that appears on this site and every time I think to myself, "Damn, that's a good-looking car!" I also say that after work every day when I walk to the parking lot...
Congrats, Iago. Be safe, be sane and always wear your seatbelt!

Hi Iago...welcome!! I bet the roadtrip was soooooooo much fun. We are about to embark on such a trip ourselves next week. How many miles did you log total? Funny how one never really gets tired driving in their MINI eh?

It was 1750 miles back, and such a blast. I'm still grinning.

I just got back from a little drive and really, I don't think I'll ever get tired of this car. Time will tell...

Wow! That was quite the road trip! We will put on about 5K but ours won't count I guess, because we will be putting her on a trailer instead of driving. There will PLENTY of time for motoring when we get back! I'm glad you are enjoying yours so much, naw..that feeling NEVER went away with our first! Motor on!
