Bluetooth and iPod Questions

Just two quick questions for you vetran MINI owners out there:
  • My 2006 R53 JCW has a phone button on the steering wheel, but when I press it nothing seems to happen. I've read elsewhere that it could just be a "dummy" button. How do you tell if you actually have the bluetooth option? Also, does anyone have a bluetooth manual for the '06? The only one I've been able to find is for the 2nd gen MINIS.
  • What's an easy and inexpensive way to connect my iPod to the stereo (Other than an FM adapter)? It would be nice to be able to control it through the stereo, but if it's $150+ vs ~$50, I can do without that convenience. Also, if I end up actually having bluetooth, does that prevent me from connecting the iPod?
Thanks!

The Dice is the best iPod integration, but at the higher end cost wise. For about $50 you can add an auxillary port that will let you plug in your headphone output to the stereo. None of the solutions should interfere with the bluetooth.

Think newministuff.com has connectors/bluetooth sets that will let you use the phone button on the wheel.
