New Potenza tires

So I had one of my Goodyear Excellence RunOnFlats go bad due to infrequent rotation. Instead of buying 1 tire at $219, I put on Bridgestone Potenza G019 Grids. They were $93 on tire rack. I really like the ride, but you sports enthusiests might not. It's much quieter, but responsiveness compared to the rigid run flat is a little slow and I can feel the tires roll a little in the corners. Overall, I like them for my driving habits as I spend most of my time on the highway.

Anybody interested in 2 195/55-16's with 60 percent tread? I'll let them go for $50 each plus shipping.

I think the stiff sidewalls of runflats are part of the go-cart handling. I replaced mine and lost some of the glued to the road feel in the corners. The Falkens I bought do ride a bit better, and they are cheaper.

I think runflats get a bad rap, if they weren't so expensive I'd still be running them.

Hey, I'm thinking about getting 4 of those same tires. I don't like runflats much because a) they are expensive and b) they don't seem to last long. I'm a poor girl so I need to keep a tire budget.

My only concern is how the Potenzas go in snow. I had summer tires/ Winter Blizzaks on my MCS but I'd really rather run the same tire year-round.

+1^^^^^^^^^^^^

I too just added same set of Bridgestones going from 17" to 16" inch rims....It's the change going from the runflats the OP is experiencing I think.

IMO our Factory Sport Suspensions were designed for using the runflat tires, so doing what we did - there will be some drawbacks.....

But I do like the new Bridgestones for all around driving....but miss the quicker go kart handling and stiffer sidewalls........

I've got the Potenza RE-01s that TireRack was selling for $88.00 each on closeout (205/45/17) and I think the tires are VERY comparable to the runflats... I've got them at 44 PSI. They grip the road extremely well and even the wet traction is killer. Cornering is a dream and they're less noisy and much smoother than runflats.
I got a heck of a deal on the four tires - and considering ONE runflat costs almost as much I spent on the four normal tires, I am thrilled.
Highly recommended if you ask me.
