I was planning to purchase a MCS this month but I keep hearing that MINI owners are freaky, strange, quirky people that think they bought a BMW. I'm don't want that kind of rep when driving around. So, are you peole a little wierd?

.... we're just like everyone else - only more so (kind of a "live-life-to-the-fullest" sotrta thing) ... and most of us don't really want to admit to driving BMW's ...

freaky- That subjective.

strange- Most people who choose to drive such a small car can be considered such.

quirky people - So far I'd have to say we all seem to have "querks" as owners. The first ones were in search for the MINI and have 'querks' of their own. Also I'd say the majority of us have also named our MINI's, I'd say that's 'quirky'

that think they bought a BMW- NO WAY, we bought a MINI and we know it, at least the owners who post do. Those who do not even know this site exists, maybe. I did meet one MINI owner who has a MINI only because they saw it while trading in thier BMW at the end of the lease.

WE ALL DEFINATELY HAVE PERSONALITY

IF your worried about your "rep" by driving a MINI, don't buy it.
I don't think us MINI owners want someone driving around in
a MINI and worried that someone might see them.
A sweet primered Nova should protect your "rep".

We bought our MINIs because we liked the car.
We drive our MINIs because we LOVE our cars!

Sorry to be so tough, but come on....this isn't high school.

Are we weird, some of us are. Some more than others.
I think the MINI demographic
are creative individuals who like to have fun and are not worried
about what otheres think.

the only thing weird about us is... our heads are on a swivel...it helps when you park car so you can look at it when you walk away...

I guess I would have to describe myself as eccentric and unconventional. I wouldn’t go as far to say that I am a social deviant (others may disagree). When I think of a MINI Motorist, I think of someone who embraces life to the fullest, not a freak or social deviant. Someone should do a study.

MINI Motorist, are they happier then people who don’t motor?
A global study has revealed that MINI Motorist are the happiest people in the
world...

You know ... anyone who comes to a MINI specific forum and asks "are you all wierd and freaky" is probably not so far away from being wierd and freaky him/herself
So I think you should buy the MINI and join us!

I might not sleep tonight. I'll be up all night trying to figure out why I'd ever want to own a BMW. (now scratching head)

REP?????? REP?????????????? REP??????????????????????????? Maybe you should consider a used Pacer. There is no REP attached to that! Should you choose a MINI do it because you like the car - not as a status symbol. I consider my MCS to be an extension of myself, to some degree but I was never concerned about other owners' reasoning or rationalle. I love my car. If that makes me wierd....

Your self-esteem and image come from you. If you are not secure enough to pick a car that you like, and only becauses you like it, then you will have a hard time enjoying the car.

I'm not as weird as say... a dog chasing his own tail. I mean, I've ran around in circles for fun, but just to get myself dizzy before I sprint off some direction. Its not like I bite my own foot and think its someone else's, or sniff friends' rears. Well... if fart contests don't count.

People are strange,
when your a stranger,
women seem wicked,
when your alone.
