Anyone else sick of scammers???
Ok, as most of you know Im selling my 06 DINAN MCS. Well I have it listed on several places and have been contacted by numerous scammers.
Just thought I would post a few so others will be aware....
Some are sending emails stating they are new to the site (ebay, cars.com, ect) and have been "burned' before and want you to sign a contract ensuring them they are the only buyer. If you respond back, they will send you a powerpoint presentation from their "lawyer" explaining the terms. DO NOT OPEN THIS POWERPOINT!!! The one I got had something called a PUP (means plug n play, why it is PUP I dunno). This will allow them access to your computer (according to the IT lady here at work). I have virus scan and naturally denied the PUP because my husband will kill me if I crash our computer.
I do not recommend posting on www.cars.com. Apparently they are not a very "protected" site. Some guy hacked my account, changed my ad and deleted me from the cars.com database. When I contacted them, they removed the ad, but did not refund me or allow me to repost my hacked ad!
Also, dont call them.....the number can be some really long distance number and they charge you like $30 a minute or some garbage! They will get you one way or the other!
Just a side note, I lowered my asking price on my MINI and am looking at offers. I need a little bigger car these days......

Another problem I have heard about when you post and ad to sell your car is someone calling you and giving you some reason that they can't come to you, but want you to bring the car to their house, or some other place.... you show up and get mugged.

For eight years I was.... now that that's over. :-)
My online car selling experiences have been good with eBay. Sold my '02 Jeep and my wife's Acura Vigor. No issues. Cars.com basically got me no responses. The Jeeep sale was my down payment on the MINI.
