OK I'm in.

So I just took delivery of my 2004 MCS (British racing green with white roof and white hood stripes) tonight and have only driven a mini once previously. Pretty sure I got a good deal, as it has the sunroof, HK stereo, what appears to be leather heated seats but the dealer says they are synthetic. Was this even an option? Car was $19,9xx and it's been there since the fall so they marked it down to 14,895, with only 14k on the odometer, one owner. Didn't put me in much of a position to negotiate but I'm not complaining. The car is mint, and by far the nicest car I've ever bought.

In case anybody was curious, I came from a 98 Legacy sedan, automatic. Probably would still have the car if it were a manual, but I'm happy with my choice. Of course I had to pick the middle of winter to make such a switch huh?

I came to my conclusion to get a MC because I'm in a nursing program at school, and go to a different clinical site every semester, and every semester they make it farther from home so I wanted something I'd be happy with long after I graduate, which was also good on gas. Almost got another subaru, but then I'd have the same monthly payment for something that gets averages 22mpg. Hope I get something better out of the MCS. I'll try to take some pics tomorrow. I wasn't even going to get an S at first but the base model I was looking at was the same price and with 40k on it and they wouldn't budge on price

BRG/W is the best color combos in my opinion..give MINI a true British feel.

I wasnt thinking of buying a mini cooper until the deals in this economy were too good to pass. i ended up getting a dark silver 05 mcs fully loaded 11k miles for $20000 from a private owner. I have been happy ever since, but i did want the british racing green just bc of the color's mini cooper history. anyway congrats!!

Congrats on your MINI, welcome to NAM and good luck with your new ADDICTION !!:wink:

Yeah I definately need to control my modding addiction for a while. All of my old cars I messed something up and learned a lesson from it (ie the debadging fiasco on my legacy. How was I supposed to know it had been repainted??). So if I decide to mod the car then I'm going to think long and hard about it and wait until I graduate so I can afford to do it properly.

Good luck ;]
i thought i would wait to but as you can see i couldn't xD.But there are a lot of things you can do without damaging the car or spending much.

I'd say you got a great deal. I paid 17k for a similar '04 MCS. The seats are leatherette, which, I believe are standard, as also are the cloth seats. You're gonna love your MINI, I love mine! With only 14k miles it's like a new car. Mine had 21k and I thought that was low.

Hmmm I have a really hard to back out of driveway (it's like an s-curve) and lastnight I was thinking about how dim the backup lights were... if I tint I might not be able to see at all! But I'm just loving the classic look of the car, the only thing I don't like is the shift knob because its' so cold when I get in the car it like freezes my hand. Car would look good with tint though.. anybody else think the backup lights are dim?
