What's it worth 03 Cooper S 44k miles...

Indy blue with white roof and stripes, Sport and premium, heated seats HK, black and blue leather, dealer armrest and cup holder, dealer leather boots in blue for shifter and p brake, chrome guage surrounds, Momo shift ****, Autometer boost guage, M7 Chassis bracing and strut bar, Koni FSD shocks, JCW springs, Hotchkiss sway bars f+r, New control arm bushings,Dumped the 17" S lites for lighter 16" webbys with HP non runflats, Cocomats, Full Dinan 205 hp engine kits (intake, throttle body, fuel system, ign. wires, exhaust, software, pulley installed at 19k miles), Conti comfort pack, Dealer service history plus extra oil changes (I just can't get with a 15k interval) Good shape, minor nicks you would expect of a 6 year old car.

I did all these mods based on what I learned here at NAM and really have enjoyed the car. It is tight and has plenty of power.

This has been My daily driver for the last few years.I bought it at the VW dealer where it had been traded in with 15k miles. My job is now requiring a lot of highway driving and I am getting older and want something more comfortable and quiet for the stop and go highway crawl...yes go ahead and hiss and boo, I have loved this car but this job change is prompting the sale. It is a clean California car, I am located in San Francisco, CA. You thoughts please, I am not sure what to ask since it has a lot of extra equipment and low miles and I want to "price it right" to sell. TIA Pierre

The aftermarket stuff is going to hurt. I would check at your local MINI dealer. Just tell them you want a trade-in appraisal and add a couple thousand or so to that price. If you find the right private buyer, I might guess at least $20k-ish?

I hate to say it, I was trying to sell my '03 MCS with roughly the same mileage (actually about 1,000 less miles) for 17,400 here in Ohio for the last 4-5 months... with NO luck!

My car is super clean with no issues... perfect, flawless paint. The highest offer I got was 15K...

I've now decided to keep it since I would rather just keep it than give it away for nothing!

Good luck- the market for MINI's right now is tough, especially with low gas prices!

Cars with mods don't generally do well in the market unless it's in a market geared towards people in the mod crowd or someone who has the same taste as you do in mods. Most return the car back to OEM/stock and could probably sell it for the same value as it is with mods.

At the end, no matter what it's a 6 year old car with 44K miles on it. That's what MOST people would look at. With the aftermarket stuff, people would or could assume this car was tracked/autocrossed or driven spiritly without regard to what you've actually done.

Good luck.

Thanks

I may reverse some of the mods then, but hate to do all that work. Got the new ride now so I am going to clean it up and see what happens on Craigslist, ebay etc. PB

It'll probably be worth your time in the end, if you have the stock parts still. Putting the stock parts back on will help the value of the car, and you can always sell the aftermarket parts. It's a win-win .

The sport package is the $450 add, the mileage is the other.
