Hi everyone,
I own a cooper s from 2003 last week, very nice sound and perfect condiction with 35.000miles, but after have seen hundred of videos on youtube, i see that the cooper S and JCW get very very easy into 6 and 7.000rpm, but my car it revolutionize very soon and is very very hard to get into 5 and 6.000rpm, why happen this? is this normall? should i change or check something? let me know please, because i want an express solution
thanks

Have you seen any of my youtube videos? Mine is a stock '04 Cooper S, with the taller gears. The newer cars have shorter (lower) gears - so they may accelerate a bit harder than the 02-04 models.
yes i saw the video now, but yours gets very easy to the 6 and 7-000rpm, and is from 2004, don't know...thanks anyway, i hope next week with my new engine kit will be better
Can you post a video of yours?
All the 02-04 Cooper S that I've driven accelerate about like mine does.
My sister's 06 Cooper S accelerates a bit faster than mine because of the shorter gears.

is your mini an S or is an R50 with CVT (CVT wont allow over 5800 I believe, something about the input shaft of the transmission breaking if it is spinning to fast or some such thing)
