R50/53 What is your favorite seat position for driving your MINI
Since I am only 5' tall... I have the seat all the way forward clicked up either 5 or 6 clicks and back slightly reclined. My umm...er... chest is occasionally used for honking the horn!

Had my car serviced today and the mechanic helped himself to the, height, lumbar and tilt adjustments. There should be a law against that. It took me a month to sort it out when I bought the car and after fiddling with it all day I still haven't found the magic groove.

I know this doesn't relate but I was watching the second video and the guy has a second video teaching how to double clutch down shift. I was wondering. Why can't you just hold down the clutch, shift down and rev the engine at the same time and then release the clutch? Isn't that faster?
My seat has to be as low as it can go, I sit upright, forward enough to get to everything, and with my shoulders back my wrist can reach the top of the wheel.
Double clutching is an antiquated practice from when transmissions didn't have syncros.

I have my seat all the way up but can't see the bonnet and I'm always hitting my head. I have it pushed back far enough so that my legs aren't squished, but I always feel as if my arms too far away from the steering wheel. Sometimes it's hard to maneuver and I have to lean forward. I HATE that. But if I make the back lean a bit more forward, I feel like I'm slouching. I can never win.
I drop mine down as far as it will go with a slight incline on the seat back, then I move the seat away from the dash using the dead pedal as a guide; I know its correct when there is a slight bend in my knee, then I drop the steering till it bucks, and its on!
