R50/53 Did you know about this new "Chrome" option for the 2003 MC?
Greetings. I have been following the group for about 1 1/2 months and after plenty of research and test drives I finally placed my deposit down for a Mini. You guys should be proud of what you built here. Allowed me to be very knowledgable with the Motoring Advisor during the test drives and then again today during the deposit process. Still negotiating with the wife about MC vs. MCS and colors.
Anyhow, I was told today that for the 2003 model year on the base Mini you can now get not only the optional bumper chrome or body colored bumper pieces, but now they've added a black colored "chrome" option. I know it's not chrome but you get my point by saying it goes where the chrome option would. I think this would look great on a Pepper White Mini with Black Roof/Mirrors.
Just to update for you regarding wait times here in Philadelphia, PA. MC = 4-6 months, MCS = 7-11 months. Don Rosen Mini just outside Philadelphia goes MSRP (no forced $1000.00 in dealer options like the Mini Dealer in Pittsburgh, PA was asking for). Will post comments in the dealer section database once I receive the car. Very pleasent experience so far.
For those who are interested, I thinking about going with a MC, Pepper White with Black Roof/Mirrors, anthracite interior, premium package plus DSC, Xenon Headlights, Fog Lights and the "black chrome" I spoke of earlier. I think this should be a sharp combination. Any thoughts? Just need to talk my wife out of this Chili Red kick she is in.
Good to join the discussion group. Wave at me when you see me in the Spring!

Hey there Driving_Hamster..
Welcome to the forum, and I think you'll be very happy with the Pepper White, I've had mine a week now and I'm enjoying it more all the time. If the black chrome option was offered when I ordered mine I might have gone for it, as it is, I'm not a big Chrome "Fan" and chose the body colored look and think it rocks !! Check the Members Mini Picture Gallery, I added two picks I took of mine yesterday.
Today I had the windows tinted and it really looks great
I'll take some more pics and post'em soon, although because of the bright sun yesterday the way the pics came out the windows already look tinited !

That bit of red may satisfy your wife's desire for the Chili Red...well, maybe a little bit! The Pepper White is so creamy in person...does NOT photograph well!
Have fun spec'ing out your MINI! BTW, many of us change our minds "several" times before finalizing the order!
>>Hi Driving_Hamster! Welcome to MCO! Enjoy the wait
