Nabeshin's Heel-toe diagram
 

Here is a diagram I made up tonight depicting my heel-toe technique, although some might call it big toe-little toe. Just thought I'd share how those with long feet can still "heel-toe."

The arrow denotes the movement direction, the O is held pressure, the X is no pressure/no touch, and the zig zag lines are vibrations or power I guess.

You sure it's not something for Madden 2009?

I use flexible sole shoes ( vans slip-ons) so that I can use my big toe for the brake, and I flex my other toes down to rev the gas

Thats how I heel/toe also. The term through me off until I watched a rally driver just rocking his feet like that and realized I've been doing the same thing for years!
The Mini doesn't seem to need too much as far as rev matching. The flywheel is so light the motor doesn't rev down nearly as much as some cars. I blip a couple gears, but not like my Miata where I rev matched every gear change.

I edited it to add a brief description.

I tried to model my pilotis accurately.

Nice post, but for track use this would not be the prefered method. You need to have a lot more foot on the brake to make sure you don't slip off. Do a google to find some very good video of different ways of doing this safely.

That's pretty much how I do it :)

Love the Artwork, If I could I would make a large print, frame it and post it in my garage bay:thumbsup: Great as is, but maybe I would add a MINI Cooper Logo or a MCS car in the corner.....lol.

Here's a request (might be a bit challenging in paint ..)

How about a schematic diagram showing the airflow paths for the MCS? (Include: intake, supercharger, bypass valve, vacuum lines, intercooler, etc.) :)

The above pictured diagram is more of a sidestep method than a heel-toe. Heel Toe would have your Toe fully on the brake pedal with your Heel rotating around to tap the gas pedal to match revs (hence the name heel-toe).

While it doesn't really matter too much which method you use so long as you can perform it safely and consistently under all types of driving conditions, I would be wary of recommending the side step method over real heel toe. Negatives against side step:
1. With the side step you only have a small portion of your foot on the brake,
2. It is more difficult to modulate pressure on the brake pedal with just the side of your foot while...
3. ...you are trying to twist your ankle to reach the gas pedal
4. It would be rather easy for your foot to slip off.

Highly recommended technique for anyone driving a manual transmission car.

There are a couple of good racing/driving oriented books with very good diagrams if someone wants to learn more about this.
BMW CCA driving instruction generally spends a decent amount of time teaching people this and other high performance driving techniques. Highly recommend everyone interested in high performance driving spend some time on track with good instructors. Or at least read a book written by a pro.

Watermarking requires stepping up to Photoshop or Gimp. Loses the pure,
down-to-earth grittiness of good ol' Paint.

I thought we were talking about Heal Toe in tires verbage.

Now i'm thinking i know where the tressure is.

I suppose I could draw in paint, then add a water mark in photoshop. I'll do that in any future drawings. Maybe add them to the ones in my gallery. Will that change the image in the 'quotes' as well? I'm actually not too concerned with copyrights.
