Seat wear (and tear)

(Sport seat, heated, 2006 MC)

Today I noticed a little tear on my driver's seat, on the edge of the bolster, door side.

Argh. Is this covered by warranty (I'm at 45,000), or just one of those things? I don't have junk on my belt or hanging out of my pants pocket. It seems like a wear issue, but I've only had my car 2+ years and I hate to imagine it getting bigger as it surely will.

I mean, I do have fancy black gaffer's tape but that won't solve the problem in the long run. Any info, please? Thanks.

Is it an actual tear in the fabric or did the stitching come undone? The later happened to one of my seats and it was covered under warranty. If it is a tear then it might be their call. Good luck!

It's near the stitching. Thanks for the reply!

If they are leather seats you may be able to get it repaired, I had a nasty cut in a leather steering wheel and the dealer had a guy come in and resurface the leather. It looked like new, I was susrprised. But a trick I learned is to always put my hand against the bloster before sliding in, this stops the constant scuffing of the bloster leather by jeans etc. The drivers bolster gets rubbed a lot from going in and out all the time.
