R50/53 Tint window. Anyone?
I am thinking to tint the window but I am not sure how much % I should do to make it nice. Not too dark. You who did it how do you like it and how% of tint you used? And who do not tint, why?
I want to do only 3 side behind so it help from UV and from (serious) looking stranger outside.
Not mean I don't like but my friend sit behind might be uncomfortable!

noka,
The laws for tinting vary from state to state. Check with one of your local tinting installers for the maximum legal tint for your area. I did 35% tinting on all windows except the front windshield and it is fine- not too dark.

Thanks for the pic and recommend:
Yours look great. I do not live there(state). I live far away. You are right I need to check carefully about the law first. But I think 35% is allowed and I might do the same % b/c it look dark enough.
Do you know about the blue tint? I also interested in it. It's from 3M if I do not mix up. Just not sure it's match w/ my red body! I heard it's durable and cool.

 We had ours tinted about 4 months ago - 35% on the rear windows and a bit lighter on the driver/passenger windows. I don't have any good pictures of the tinting but, we do like it a lot.
When we are driving around, the front part is tinted light enough that people can still see who is in the front seats, but the back is dark enough that you cannot see in - and that's what we really wanted - considering the MINI is Mike's traveling office and the MINI draws a lot of attention anyway - we didn't want people to see into the back of it....

Hey Donna,
sounds like my tint!
I did 35% rear three windows, and then 50% driver and passenger door windows (and 100% windshield
)
I did 35% rear to help reduce solar heating, and for 'privacy' from prying eyes. I never liked having drivers side ones too dark though. My previous Subaru Outback had 35% rear, and no tint drivers and passenger side. I liked that too, but now prefer the 50% front on my MINI.
Sorry, no pics handy right now.
Cheers,
Markus

Hey Markus post pics when you can please! I'd like to see what an EB/W looks like tinted! Moreover, if I do get Penny Lane tinted I'll be following your plan basically as California cops can get pretty strict about driver side windows being easy to see into.
Thanks!

Pooky13,
You look great with your 5% tint but you wouldn't be legal in Hawaii so you'd better not hop on a container ship anytime soon. I wonder if you'd get into trouble crossing state lines. Depends on the state.

Junior is a rebel, she'll ride anywhere it pleases her! Aaarrhhh!
As long as she stays away from the cops that is.
