I have asked many, many ownwes about how their mini"s perform in snow and have received only one answer - "You may want to get bigger tires for snow."

Can any one give me a more detailed answer to what to expect? It will be sometime before it snows and I want a mini now! Should I get one and if so, should I just ride the bus when the white stuff falls?

Did you ask each of them as many times as you posted this thread here?

I have/use the Stock 17's and All-Season Goodyears.

They do very well in Chicago snow, but last year was not the worst winter. I left the DSC on, but at times on ice it would not let move so I had to shut it off. It seems to expect you to be moving, and from a stand still it's a bit much.

The lower clearance might be an issue depending on how much/high the snow is. You may want to invest in a Skid Plate to better cover the underside of the MINI.

If you have "Performance" tires you will need to get Winter tires. Some cheap 4x100mm 15in Steel rims and true Winter Tread will work even better than all-seasons.
