R50/53 Is your MCS your #1 or do you rely on something else?
5 drivers and 7 cars in my family. I'm 49, been driving since I was 16, and have had 21 cars in that time frame (plus the current 7). Without a doubt my MINI is the most fun car I've ever owned... not the fastest, not the most expensive, not the best-built, but hands-down the one that will put a bigger smile on my face faster than anything else.
I drive it daily and every chance I get.

Although my 2001 or2002? (not sure) e320, and my 2007 g550 are parked closest to the elevator door in my garage (I live in a high rise), I don't even glance at them since I bought the used 2005 MCS. I just love my MINI. Why would I want to drive anything else?
Pretty wild variety here. Alot of DD alot of fun car only driver but still ranging in all ages it seems.
As me im 20 and my mcs is my "toy" right now but i do still neeed to rely on it in heavy rain. and the Bike is more my DD.
But i like how its oh so diverse with some of the younger guys using the mini more of as a "toy" fun car and driving somehting liek a civic as a DD.
But then you got the full out mini only nothing else drivers.
And who can forget dem old whipper snappers that got 4+ vehicles and just get to choose the flavor of the week.
which happens to be the Mini.

MY 2002 MINI Cooper S is my only car, it's also my toy. being a former (still do it on my own) mechanic my MINI gets taken care of. If the weather gets to bad (i do live in iowa) i take my girlfriends '92 sable.
I wish the best for everyone there!
My wife and I both have 2006 'S' convertibles as our daily drivers (35,000 miles in 19 months on my car, 30k in two years on her car).
We do have an old pickup truck for things like trips to the landfill or hauling fill dirt, but it probably only gets started about a half-dozen times a year.

I'm buying the JCW to become my DD that's both fun/quick yet fuelishly efficient; DD sort'a was my Jeep before which I'll be selling now. I'm trying to keep the mileage down on my 10yr old and 20 yr old Benzs @ this point, that I'm not expecting to sell.
DD?
2002 MC is one of my DD's. I also have a couple others that are in the rotation.
84' BMW E28 533i (toy/project car)
88' BMW E28 535is Euro Converison (toy/project car)
08' BMW E92 335i
I have to say the MC is getting the most action now that it has a new transmission and no longer sounds like a sewing machine!

My '04 MCS (sigh...sold now) and my '07 MCS both became my daily driver once I actually got on the MINI kick (while I was living in Europe), but before that my '01 F150 Supercrew (the 4-door kind) was my daily.
Now my DREAM is to settle somewhere (the military keeps me moving, so it's not practical yet), build a "show garage" and start collecting really really cool cars. After I win the lottery I'm going to buy a MINI in every color, and a few Minis that perk my interest. Among others, of course....

My Mini S is driven 6 months a year (Apr-Sept) for work & fun only. It's my toy.
Our Honda CRVis DD for running errands, grocery, home projects, kids sports, out of town, etc..Very reliable. The only parts replaced after 10 years are battery & brake pads although timing belt is due soon.
Our BMW 330 is DD for work & fun only. Both wife & me have good parking spots at work.

My '06 JCW MCS is my DD and toy. In the near future, I'll add to the toy list a Vtec-powered Classic mini pickup. What a hoot, classic mini pickups are a foot shorter than an R53 MINI, therefore, my MINI will serve as the larger, family car.
