>>I will be buying the "S" version of the model and paying the difference. So far I am looking at a Light Silver or a Light Blue one. Any suggestions?

Congratulations Michael!! What a great story! Are you ordering your S or is it one from off the lot? If it's off the lot, then take the one with the specs you like most. If you're ordering to your own specs, go to http://www.miniusa.com and configure one how you like it. Then go for the Electric Blue!! (But I'm biased, dontcha know... )

Also, as someone else suggested, do some research here to find out more about which specs might be right for you. The one suggestion I DO have is go for the MultiFunction Steering Wheel. You can't go wrong with that choice! It's awesome!

You might want to look up info on:

- leather vs. pleather (plastic 'leather') vs. cloth seats;

- HK vs. stock system if you are an audiophile (if you're not an audiophile, go for the HK. If you are, you may want to spend the money on an aftermarket system);

- 16" vs. 17" wheels (BIG discussions on that topic!! Personally, I'd go for the 16's... They're MUCH lighter and don't drag down the car. They also give a slightly smoother ride.)

- NAV vs. aftermarket system

tha'ts about all I can think of that people have grossly different opinions about.

Good luck!

What a wonderful way to get a MINI!

My cousin in Houston won a car and she sold her old car in the newspaper to pay the taxes. After that she had a brand new car with No Payments, which she kept for like 10 years until it started having major problems.

You will love your MINI!

oh, and I vote for a Red and White one,
just like my Madeline's going to be!!

I will believe it when I see it.
If it is true you would be a fool to take the car.

You have a choice to take the value in cash
Then you can pay the taxes off.

Wow,
I have been a BMWCCA member for 15 years and I did not expect so many responses it such a short time! Update: I put a deposit on a pure Silver with Silver roof, Premium, Sport, HK and dimming mirros. I don't have much of a choice in colors unles I build one myself. Christian at Crevier helped me. Thanks for the suggestion. They still want $3000 over sticker. Even though the Mini I won was worth $22,000 and the sticker is 18,900. They will make a premium on me tiwice. So they will include the alarm and an extra year of service. Not happy about the premium, I will probably be about $8000 out of pocket. For those who asked, I don't know the details on the taxes. I was told that I will have to pay slaes tax here in CA and then ofcourse I will have an additional $22,000 of income on my taxes when I file in April. I am looking forward to going to the events. Since I have done SCCA for years. I am also looking at modifications such as Cold-Air and exhaust. Any $.02 I will aprecaite it.

Again thanks for all the gresat responses. I CAN"T WAIT! Car comes in at the end of the month and I have a digital camera so I will take pictures.

I have a picture of the Yellow one that I won. If someone tells me how to post it I will show you what it looks like or if you want me to email it to you. As I mentioned I am not keeping that one.
