EBC PERFORMANCE BRAKE RBUILD KIT from minicarparts.net

Hello,

Has anyone ever has experience with this kit? I'm particularly interested in knowing if this would improve (lessen) the brake dust compare to OEM and if the 'slotted' rotors produces any significant noise? Thanks.

ebc green stuff pads are supposed to throw less dust than oem. I cannot comment on the performance since i dont own them however.

I recently installed a full set of the EBC greenstuffs with new M7 rotors (both drilled and slotted). I upgraded simply because the car had 40K miles and the brakes had never been done. There is significantly less dust than oem. There is also a very slight buzzing sound when the brakes are applied. (You can only hear it if the windows are down and you are driving close to a retaining wall.) This is normal for drilled/slotted rotors. All that said, I haven't really noticed any significant improvement over stock braking, but I haven't really stood on them, just normal daily driving and they seem to be fine for that. I wouldn't use or recommend this setup for the track.

Been there...

I used Green Stuff pads and EBC slotted rotors. The pads put out almost NO dust. However, they ate up the rotors rather quickly. Then they got REALLY NOISY!!

I have been pretty happy since switching to Mintex pads together with smooth Brembo OEM replacement rotors. Some don't like that the Brembo OEM replacements rust. But it hasn't bothered me. You can paint them if you like.

But, if I had it to do again (because I don't track the car) I think I would either go with TSW's (I think really cool looking) rotors with their recommended Porterfield pads, or just go to TCE Performance for their currently recommended street setup. Both of these sellers have excellent reputations in stopping MINIs. TCE is a brake specialist, though.

One thing I would encourage is to get the metal caliper bushings, stainless steel lines and a very high quality fluid such as ATE's Super Blue, REGARDLESS of which rotors and pads you use.

Motor on!!

Here's one I was introduced to by a vendor here on NAM. He contacted me. I may go with it. Seems like a decent price. My brakes are original and at 67400 miles. I do not track the MINI; just my daily driver too. (100 miles per work day).

WOW!

You must have a lot of highway miles with low traffic to have gotten that much mileage out of OEM pads!!
