OK, I have a few questions for all you detailing fanantics out there.
My MCS has a June 11th build date, are there any reason why I can't put a coat of wax on it now (it's dry as hell right now and everything sticks to it. Not nice) I have heard that, in the past, it was wise to wait a certain period of time before waxing.
True or BS? (I plan on using Zymol for now, although I am intrigued by the Zaino products)
Second, what does a clay bar do?

Thanks all

>>Thanks all  I'd like to try ZAINO in the future though.

I just purchased the MOTHER'S clay bar kit this past weekend and intend on using it some time in the near future. I will then reapply the above products.

If you're in the US and your MINI was shipped here, the paint has had plenty of time to cure, so waxing it should not be a problem.

Claybars should be used after mutliple car washes with Dawn (removes waxes an grease). The Claybar is used to remove any small particulates the Dawn cannot get to. I'm not thuroughly convinced you'll need to do this on a brand new paint job.

Today’s modern automobiles are painted and then baked at high temperature and the paint is as hard and dry two weeks after painting as it is after two years. You can safely wax your car the day you take delivery. Call any high quality body shop and they will tell you the same thing.
