It's Finally Here! Just managed to get to MINI of Hawaii 1/2 hour before they closed, now about 20 minutes of counting out bills (3 people counting) and 32 miles later, a shiny black MINI with a white top and mirrors sits in my driveway.

The only problems so far are 1) The two spare keys are missing, the dealer couldn't find them so they are re-ordering them for free. 2) They are awaiting a software update and can not yet set many of the programmable functions.

Now, question about the main key, I have read the instructions on changing the battery in the owner's manual, but was told by the sales rep that the key is charged while in the ignition ("just like other BMWs" he said) Which leads me to wonder if the description in the manual is outdated, or if it is only battery powered and he is just going off his past experience with other BMW products which actually do charge the key?

Congrats! That is great news! Now go hop in your MINI and get it out of the driveway. MINI's hate sitting in driveways! Also, if you can, post some pics. I haven't seen a black w/ white top MINI. It sounds cool.

Love the title of this thread.

Rustie,

It's not just the joy of FINALLY getting the new car, but I think it's that new car aroma hitting your brain and causing sudden rushes of euphora?

Geez, going from a 1966 to a 2002....man you zoomed into a new Millennium! Have fun getting adapted to the new technology. Remember that the car IS smarter than you!!
