With the amount of brake dust I get, I don't even try to wash the wheels until I've rinsed off as much as posible. Brake dust is abrasive and you shouldn't try to just wipe it off with ANY product. Live and learn.

I have found that for the wheels and car alike, scratches can and do happen so be very careful using any material on the car. I used a paper towel and got lots of scratches. So only microfiber soft towels that are clean or maybe some fine wooven cotton material get to touch the car. Soft foam is OK.

Just be aware and extra careful. Test out an area first to be sure. Don't let others try to clean up something. Monitor for any trouble- like scratches. I check my car twice daily at least. Every morning, every night and after every parking episode in a public place. Similar to damage control assessment. So far I am doing OK. Some scratches happen.

I apply Zaino to my wheels whenever I do the body, and have been dry wiping between washes without problems.
