R50/53 Penny rattling my door
Penny rattling my door
Hey everyone,
Someone put change in my passenger door pocket and when i tried to get it out, a penny fell between the thin slot of the door panel and the door pocket panel...
Is there an easy way of just taking off that bottom door part (the pocket) instead of taking off the whole door panel?????
Any help is appreciated as it is driving me nuts...
thanx,
Allen

Sorry but you'll have to take the door panel off.
Funny thing is I had a customer come in this week with pennies in his cd player. His 2 yr old son was helping him out.

Complaining the stereo sounded a bit tinny?
oh man, change in funny places is the worst! It is really funny when you get a vehicle used, you wind up finding change everywhere. When I got my BMW a couple of years ago, I found over $3.00 worth of change under the center console (btw. the plastic inserts and the sheetmetal!)

I had that same problem It drove me crazy :impatient. What I did was take a thin peice of stiff paper (maybe cardstock) a little wider than the penny or dime, folded it in half to make a sort of sling. I wedged it in the crack folded edge first behind the penny and slid it to catch the coin inbetween the two peices and pulled it out all while sitting in traffic (It was a great way to pass the time)
. Good luck hope it works
My wife used to have a Civic that some of the local squirrels decided was a good place to store the food that they stole from one of the local dogs. It was very annoying, but pretty funny at the same time. Every now and then a piece would shoot out one of the vents.
To the OP, yep the whole panel. You COULD just rip the pocket off, but then you'd have to remove the panel to reattach it.
I'd go with the stiff paper method. Note that the whole panel is only attached by three screws, so it's a quick R&R.
Mom complained of the interior fan in her Civic dying. When I took it out, the entire edge of the fan was 'lined' with insulation from some industrious mouse. Fortunately he was not in residence.

I'm goign to give the Paper Trick a try... I just dont have time to take the panel off... but, if the paper trick doesnt work, looks like the panel will come off soon..
thanks again,
