R50/53 Case Of the Yellow Shift Knob
Case Of the Yellow Shift ****
Well thank god my MCS hasn't been plagued with the yellow shift **** problem, but almost every other multi year old and daily driven MCS i see does have this problem (where the white part of the shiftknob that has the gear positions is yellow)
who has it, though, and what has caused it. i can only guess dirt maybe, but yellow seems an odd color for dirt to turn the shift ****. Still i constantly wipe my shift **** down with a cloth and mine looks nearly good as new.
so who really knows wht the deal is with this

it is the plastic coating affected by the UV rays, causing it to yellow over time. That is my guess.
My OEM **** sits on my file cabinet in my home office, amongst other MINI collections...I run my Whalen, which will never yellow
