Hey Everyone,
I have ordered a '03 MINI Cooper, and it should be here any day now. I really liked the optional 16" 5-Star wheels, but I decided against it because: 1) The $500 bucks it cost for the rims (finances are tight enough), and 2) because the came with the notorious run-flats, that would cost me even more to replace. So, I ended up going with the standard 15" 8 spoke standard wheels. I think this was a mistake. Now the car is complete and shipped and all I can think about is how I wish I would have ordered the 16" and suffered with the run flats for a while.

So, does anybody that upgraded their wheels from the R83s want to sell them? Or does anybody know somebody (or know somebody that knows somebody) ?

If you do, please PM me. Or email me at: andersjNO_SPAM@moffitt.usf.edu (just remove the NO_SPAM part to emial me).

I’m in Tampa, FL if that makes a difference…

Thanks a ton!

Josh

Once you get the car, and start driving those 15" non runflats, you'll love
them so much that you won't want to trade.

I do have 16" 5-spoke, and I like the look, and I'm just a'waitin' for the
runflats to wear out.

Probably another two years since I use winter tires in the (what!) winter.

I dig the look of the 5-star 16" rims but dislike the runflats. You can always install a nice set of non-runflat 16" rubber and still have space for a spare (Unlike the MCS).

I have the 15" 8-spoke Continental non-runflats and they are great. Compare costs from $50 per tire replacement to $215 for 16" runflat fare. They ride great...might not look as sexy as the 16" 5 stars but they are classy on their own.

Also remember thatthe 15" 8-spokes and 15" 7-hole wheels are the lightest of the bunch (15 and 12 pounds per tire respectively) and this means better acceleration and less unsprung weight for the car to pull around.

Thanks, Cooper4us, Trippy & Rataha,
Maybe you are right. I'll pick up my new baby this afternoon and I hope I'm so psyched I'll forget all about the lack of 16 inch rims.

But I'm sitll lookin' if anybody has a set to get rid of !

Thanks,
Josh
