i have seen lots of electric blue with white tops, but none with black tops. will i be the only one in the contry (world?) with a black top? post a photo if you have one.

 

I haven't seen one in person yet! But it is my 10 yr old's FAVORITE color combo! Make sure YOU post pics when you get it!!!!

I'm not sure I'd want that combo personally (I have the pedestrian white roof on my EB), but I can see it being a big hit on the collector/show circuit in about 15 years. Pretty rare. :smile:

 

Well it looks like its time for me to defend my color combo...Why did I choose this combo?? Nobulls top 10 reasons for getting a EB/B MINI.

1) Its a rare combination.

2) It looks aggressive.

3) Everyone has white and I wanted to be different.

4) I like black.

5) I like Blue.

6) I think EB/W is more of a ...... color combo.

7) Its my favorite combo colors.

8 ) The sunroof is black also and does not stand out.

9) Black caps, black tints, black trim, etc.

10) And the last reason why Nobull60 picked EB/B....BECAUSE YOU Didn't !!!!

Chad 123, I have that color combo. We must have changed colors 6 times before sticking with the electric blue/black. I looked at a photo in the gallery here on MCO that made us pick that combo.Look in cooper S gallery,I think on the last page.It should still be there.We wanted to be a bit different than everyone else.True,most electric blues do have the white roof. But let me tell you,the black roof and mirror caps really make the car look tough.We added the black bonnet stripes too.We also figured that since we got the sun roof,75% of the roof would be black any way.So, a black roof would just finish it off.We love it.Check out NoBull's car.He has posted a bunch of pix.I have not posted any pix yet,but will soon.We have all three packages.The HK, ralley lights,auto wipers/dimming mirror(the wipers are great) and heated seats for those chilly NJ mornings.Good luck in your choice.Mostly,order what YOU want.When the car comes in,(ours took 10 months) you will have a smile on your face for weeks.I still have mine.Good luck.Where are you from,and what dealer is working with you?Jaydawg.

i am with nobull60. i think it will look aggressive. i think it's going to look great with the light body and dark roof to match the side posts. and i was not a fan of the white mirrors. build for me is 6/13/03 now so i should see it some time at the end of july and i have the wheel lips at the paint shop right now getting primed so i can smooth them up before paint. the aero kit should be here in a few weeks and i'll have it all painted and ready for when the car gets here. i'll post pics here and on my web site as soon as it get it up and running. (chadsgarage.com). i also wanted mine to be a bit differnt than other mini's out there so i think the black roof will help that, but remain the classic new mini look. i am all about getting the most rare model when ever i order a car..lol i can not wait!

I have no pictures, but have seen a few pictures from other sources. Even if you have loads of MINI’s in your town, I’ll bet yours will be one of the most unique colour combinations.

yeah no sun roof. i realy didn't want the rattels i had heard about and i really didn't like the way they looked over all. becided it's 50 extra lbs! i wanted a rally/race car feel/look. that is why i got the aero kit with the rally light. in the end i have no second thoughts about not getting a sun roof.

 

I have a EB/B with stripes and sunroof. Wicked color combo. Stands out well and aggressive and rare (well at least till the word gets out of how great a color combo is) I've tinted my windows which finishes off the look. I'll have pics up as soon as my friend gets them unloaded from his camera and sends them to me. He's had them for three days now. He must have dial-up

 

I have this color combo 2-14-03 birthdate/ MCS with sunroof/lapis blue leather/interior surface anthracite.

 

Got the EB/B with sunroof, have to say you don't notice it much. Although if you can live without it skip the roof and save the weight.


This is the pic that convinced me it EB?B was the way to go.

took the words right out of my mouth. i love my chilli red with black top and tint, and i give the above 3 reasons. the question i get asked the most is "doesnt that red only come with the white top"

 

EB/B is waaaay nice to look at- much prefer it to the white. Bustov, that bottom pic is as fine a pic of a MINI as I've seen. The only thing cooler would be seeing Nobull's MINI in person- his is the nicest of the EB/B MCS's out there.

the sunroof is tinted and is 80% of the roof, so even on a white roof, its like having a mostly black roof. so its like 3 colors. eb, white trim, and black roof..hmm

 

this was my original color combo choice, but after lots of thought i decided to go for the DS / B, im very happy w/ my decision, but i do like the EB/Black.... the mini dealers told me not to get it, they said it wasnt recomended!!!
