R50/53 Actual Mileage?
Cheers felow MINI motorers...
The following are the numbers I'm getting for efficiency when driving my MINI under different conditions:
34 MPG Freeway, AC off
31 MPG Freeway, AC on
29 MPG City, AC off
27 MPG City, AC On
What's yours?
Good luck!

Not bad! I'm curious because I'll be getting an S in about six months (dealer imposed) and I've read an assorment of mileages in various reviews - anywhere from 16 to 34 miles per gallon. Any actual mileages from S owners?

I have only filled the tank twice on my new S (I have only 760 miles on it so far). The first refill, I averaged 29 MPG with mixed driving and AC on about 50% or the time. The second refill, I averaged slightly lower, around 27 MPG, with AC on most of the time and was stuck in a huge traffic jam for 45 minutes.
I have about 7100 miles on my MCS and I am averaging 29 mpg with the AC on all the time. 6k of that is highway driving up and down the state 6x's and to tahoe twice. The rest is Bay Area driving including Napa.
After almost 6,000 miles, I've been averaging about 26 or 27 mpg in the city and 30 on the highway (both with AC on). I do drive it pretty hard, though.
I've found that the computer generally calculates my mileage to be about 2 mpg worse than it really is (based on miles driven per gallon needed at the pump when I refill). Has anyone else found that ot be the case?

Scoobs,
I drove the MC and MCS with manuals. I liked the way the MCS took off from standing over the MC. The MC seemed a little sluggish on the low end of first and second. I've always driven cars with manual transmissions. I really enjoy driving with a stick shift, so I didn't even consider the automatic. I've heard it drives nice, though, although you have to get used to the fact that you don't feel the gears changing.
