Who's MCS is this?
I cant't remeber which thread i saw this MCS in but i copied the picture to try and find the grills, but i cant seem to.
http://i51.photobucket.com/albums/f3...15778Mini1.jpg Who are you?! I'm goin nuts over here:lol: |
It is not my Mini, but I also have the black aero grills from
http://outmotoring.com/mini_aero_grill_kit.html Hope that is what you wish to have (a location to purchase them). No affiliation, just trying to assist. |
I was just looking at that Aero grill earlier today. Really cleans up the front for those who don't want all the "bling"
|
I really like/enjoy my front black aero grill. It takes some time to install and get right so be aware of the installation difficulties. The top portion on the bonnet is not too difficult but the bottom portion needs some work to get it to fit right on the lower bumper. I read many of the threads on installing the black aero grills on a Mini as well as the one Gabe porvides through Outmotoring. I'd recommend reading them carefully and maybe more than once. The black aero grill is a very welcome modification to my Mini or maybe to any Mini as I like it more. It is a matter of preference.
Happy installation..... |
Thank you guys so much, I scowered the web to find these but as you can see the picture i was dealing with wasnt the best one
I'm gonna enjoy getting this on, and I'll post some pics when shes done  |
and btw, anyone have a picture of a RG MCS with the black aero grill?
|
dont mean to take business away from businesses but i got them for real cheap (cheapest i found) at classic mini. here's the site
https://www.northamericanmotoring.co...ad.php?t=36665 i got them for about 80 including shipping. great mod..i regret not taking my time on the lower section. i finished doing my grills in less than 2 hours. search around and you'll find lots of pictures of your color mini. :) |
yea thats about what outmotoring.com sells them for
|
also does anybody know if the grill on the bottom of the bumper is the same as the aero grill?

Don't know what they charge, but I believe Detroit Tuned also sells these.
Edit - $88 |
Here are the aero grills in my MCS
http://farm1.static.flickr.com/110/2...93e8dfe7_o.jpg http://www.littlemini.us/pix/DSC_3437.jpg It's a lot more clear on Bar10Girl's Pepper White https://www.nexternal.com/bimmer/ima...niright550.jpg |
The blue car in the first post is nice but if you look at the "middle" grille it was not modified. If you look closely you can tell it is not flush with the bumper. I did this mod and ended up not liking it much so bought just the front aero bumper.

yeah its the same as the aero grill, but you have to modifiy it to make it fit onto the stock bumper cover, youre goin to need a dremmel, some black spray paint and double sided tape or epoxy to make the lower grill stay on the bumper cover, it should take you no more than 2 hrs. to do the whole mod:thumbsup:

It's no fair for Richard to post his JB/JB he's a detail guru and always makes a car in a hard color look good. Here's mine with the aero setup on
a non-aero bumper too: http://i50.photobucket.com/albums/f3...t/DSCN3287.jpg http://i50.photobucket.com/albums/f3...t/DSCN3254.jpg Ignore the dubs, unless you are a fan of them too like me! |
