How do I remove the antenna pod on the roof of an 06?

My kid just broke the antenna off of our 06 with a frisbee. How do I get that pod off to replace it? I thought on the earlier cars you just turn it 90 degrees and it comes off but this one looks different.

Does anyone happen to have one of those for sale?

on my 2006, the pod stays on the car and the antenna just unscrews from the pod.

did he break the pod itself? or just the antenna?

The pod broke. The antenna tore out the top of the pod.

You'll have to pull the C-pillar trim back from the top (this is tricky and breaks easily) and the boot seal. Pull the headliner down some, and you'll see the nut on the bottom of the antenna unit.
Good luck

it has a screw behind the side panel, so no. You may be able to just remove the top bit of bott seal, and see if the headliner pulls down enough to get to it. otherwise, you may have to disassemble some of you interior. These cars seem to be built from the top down! Take a look, but don't remove it until you have a part to replace with

The part is $35 from Patrick MINI if anyone is curious. Their parts guy John was really cool to work with.

I thought I had all of them put away, but he got his hands on one of these:

They will take your head off if you aren't careful
