New Guy

just wanted to say hello. i am on the Nw oregon coast, and have been lurking the site for a little while now. i recentely sold my 04 evo 8, and am looing for something a little bit more toned down for a 80 mile one way commute i will have to make starting in the fall. I did a fair amount of HPDE's with the evo, and need something that will get better mileage, and not as obnoxious (sp?) but i can still auto X. While i loved the evo, as the price drops on them daily they have a whole new ballpark of owners. i have a ton of questions, but will do as much searching as possible before i ask. if any of you are trying to sell, or thinking of selling i would appreciate a heads up. i searched the for sale section and didnt find much of anything locally. i am looking for a 02-04 MCS with 30-40k miles on it. i am not to picky about color, or options, but need a manual. I'll be around trying to figure out how to mod these things, what works, what doesnt, and all that jazz. thanks, look forward to getting to know some of you guys.

Well you have come to the right place thats for sure. Depending on your time frame on obtaining your MINI you might consider a new one. Especially here on the West Coast and the Northwest, used ones can cost you as much many times as a used one. Rasmussen MINI in Portland has been awesome for me but very limited on used ones. I know that Northwest MINI in Fife usually have a few on the lot but at a premium price. Any questions you may have just let us know and I am sure someone will chime in with answers! Good luck on your search

thanks for the welcome guys. i have noticed that the used MCS that i can find are (it seems to me) somewhat outrageously priced. maybe a new one is the way to go. i am commuting to and from school in the fall, so worry about taking on another new car payment, but like you said tdm, it may be the best choice. i found a few on autotrader, but most are at dealers, and most are about 25k. i wanted to spend less than that, and if i cant find one, i will most likely look into new ones. thanks again.
