portland twisties

Hi, my name is jim daniels from the mini5280 club out of denver. I will be driving my '05 cooper convertable to Portland for a nephews wedding on the 4th of August. I hope to break away on sunday the 5th and am looking for suggestions for some local twisties. any help will be appreciated. (I hope this is the right club sight).

Post in the PDX (Portland) MINI club forum, and you'll get plenty of responses, (and probably several tag alongs).

In the mean time, I'll see what routes we have already run and planned out of Portland directly.... There are many.

Get out you map and take the little roads and make a loop around Mt St Helens. Incredible roads and vistas. Be sure to stay in your lane as there are a lot of enthusiasts out there, 2 and 4 wheeled.

Someone said Mt. St Helens. That's good but a fair drive from Portland. Closer, and two lane curvy roads, is to go out towards the coast on OR 26, then follow the signs to Vernonia, and from there take the Nehalem River Rd. towards Mist and Jewell. Then you can head home back east on OR 26, or make a day of it and take OR 53 towards Wheeler, the Miami R. Rd. towards Tillamook and then come back on OR 6, or go down 101 to Hebo and take OR 22 and go to the Casino and home on OR 18. Google maps for any of these places and you won't get lost - or use your zoomy Nav feature or get a Garmin GPS.

Skyline. Old Something Hwy that leads to Multnomah Falls. If you haven't driven up to Mt Hood take the time and do it. You'll be glad you did.
