Cheated on my MCS....LOVED IT!

Ugh, I feel guilty. I wrapped myself in the arms of another vehicle, and I can't stop thinking about it.

The Porsche Cayman S is all it's cracked up to be and more. I had a lengthy drive with it, and while I LOVE my car - it just isn't in the same arena as the Cayman. It has personality, spunk, vigor; it's tight, load, raucus, invigorating.

I've read a lot of reviews where people come from Porsches to MINIs, but I have to say that if I could spend 0 dollars for three years to save for this thing, I'd buy it.

I know this comparison is apples to oranges. All I'm saying is that the car friggin' rocks.

I need to go take a shower to get this glitter and perfume off of me:lol:

You better hope your MINI dosn't find out about this, or a check engine light will come on very quickly. MINIs are very jealous!

justintime 09-18-2006 08:33 PM

hmm, you do know all our minis read about themselves in this site...

Looks like I'm driving to work in the back seat tomorrow.

amg6975 09-18-2006 08:41 PM

Nice. How'd you get ahold of one of those? It's one of my favorite cars currently.:)

I agree...Caymans rock! ....haven't driven one yet, but I followed a black one for a couple of miles a few days ago. It sounded sweet and I couldn't keep my eyes off it. 0-60 in the mid 4's would be nice...and it would out-handle most anything.

I don't know that a test drive would count as cheating...that was a long drive though...guess it varies by MINI...but if you do it again you could be in trouble.

bolus 09-18-2006 08:52 PM

I kinda cheated too :eek2:

In some states (like mine). I got plates and insurance for it already.

Jeremy1026 09-18-2006 09:16 PM

How much is the insurance on it?

bolus 09-18-2006 09:20 PM

$1400 / year comprehensive from one of the national companies. There were several other smaller collector car insurance companies that would cover it too but they usually had mile limited policies

Mustang instead of a cayman? How about a schwinn instead of a ducati?

Now all arielatom.com needs to do is to get their website operational....

Alerious 09-19-2006 04:46 AM

Been there, done that, AND I got caught! :eek2:

I was in Stuggart in the spring and got invited to the Porsche factory for the day. Tours, lunch, etc., and then a romp across the German countryside in a new Cayman S... OMG! They programmed the route into the Nav system and I was off. A great mixture of country roads and, of course, some Autobahn action. What a great day!

The wife called me from the states when I was on the Autobahn... doing 225 KPH+ and shifting in to 6th gear... BUSTED!
