Dodge Hornet as the american version of the Mini?!
i totally dig the exterior design, but i'm not so sure about the interior.
1. those seats don't look very comfy.
2. little to no visibility out the back window (though the MINI convertable isn't much better)
-
i like where dodge is going with it, but i think it needs a little less "function" and a little more "sexy" on the interior. it's too boxy and... erm... "future-pop-dance-club" looking.

Yep, looks like they chopped and welded a Dodge truck to a Scion xA. Very ugly. And what is the obsession with huge wheels on every concept. They are not an upgrade. You don't see any rally cars with 19" wheels. And what is the deal with the back door and seat. Does anybody really give rides? Let them get their own car. I am taking the back seat out of my Mini.

1970 AMC Hornet:
Really, there are only so many ways you can design a small hatch. This concept does seem to borrow the MINI's rear quarter and taillight proportions, though.

gorgeous, showstopping looks of the early 1970's AMC Hornet.

Without much lateral support for the seats, it appears that this vehicle is not intended for high G-forces or driving sideways through turns. And even though it may be taking cues from the MINI, it's not a MINI. That's like putting a microphone in Rosanne Barr's hand and saying she is Céline Dion.

Little girls in the old west wore "bonnets." That car has a "hood."

Here is Diamler Chrysler's attempt to clone our beloved MINI. The Dodge Hornet
It will use a single cam 1.6 liter inline 4 that generates 170 bhp and 165 pound feet of torque. Mated to a 6 speed transmission. Seems that they will finally use the Brazillian built engines after BMW/MINI switches to Puegeot forpower
