I found some members would be eligible for this club.
Now, here's a launch of "MINI/AUDI Owner's Club".
First of all, I'll upload my eligibility with 2003 MCS and 2006 A3!

Yep. I got 2.0T DSG. I love DSG.

mybroscoop Dec 18, 2005 10:59 PM

I have heard nothing but good things about the DSG! Makes me want to go test drive one!

Dolmangar Dec 19, 2005 05:25 AM

I test drove the A3 DSG when it came out early in the year and thought it was great. I had an A4 at the time, so I was planning on getting another Audi.

The DSG is really amazing, and will (I think) be the transmission that finally spells the end of the manual trans in normal cars. Apparently it's between the cost of a manual and an automatic, plus it gives better performance then either for most people. Sure there will always be a group of cars that have a manual option, but I'm betting that if the technology takes off the cost savings of only having to offer one transmission option will be to attractive.

If you get a chance to try the DSG, you really should. I think that you'll be suprised at the performance, speed, and usability of the system. There is no lag between gear shifts. Quite an interesting sensation, and will make even die hard manual drivers reconsider.

That being said, I couldn't justify getting an Audi without Quattro, and they were only planning on Quattro with the 3.2 DSG trans in the US. I've heard several reasons for this. One had to do with the location of the gas tank in 2.0 in the Quattro and that it didn't meet USA regs, and the other that it would eat to much into the 3.2 sales to offer the 2.0 with Quattro (I don't know what the real answer is).

Anyway going 3.2 really started to put the price up there. Couldn't justify the cost for it this time around.

No worries!
We'll never leave A4/A6 owners.
A3 is just a new kid on the block in the US, but A4 are a great standard car!
We are proud of being members of MINI/AUDI owner's club and we all love MINI and AUDI, don't we?
