how about a 2002 mustang gt or vw vr6 gti

would something like a 2002 mustang gt be good? I know it is a completely different car than the MCS or any of the other cars we have discussed. Here is another completely different car from the mustang that i am also going to look at, VW VR6 GTI, around 2002.

ok, seriously, it sounds like you need to go out and test drive as many of these cars as possible so that you can narrow your field. we've got the four cars you started out with, then the is300, then the Mustang GT, then the VW. seriously, start test driving, what ever your gut tells you to get will be the best

Mustang GTs are nice. I drove my dad's, and i have to say that if I didn't get my MINI, I'd be getting one of those.

You might save some time by looking into the Forum archive section of NAM and scroll down to MINI, Performance Mods, Drivetrain. Come to think of it you might take lots of time reading through it because it is extensive. But after a day or so you ought to be well versed on what you can do to a MINI and how much it would cost.

I thought an earlier suggestion for an RX7 was pretty good--I have driven both Porsche 944 and RX7 and thought they were both very well balanced, but with the RX7 feeling more responsive. But all your choices have a rear seat area so that eliminates an otherwise nifty car.

Good luck.
