 Our all-weather beater (since we have to motor quite a ways to find snow) is our white '88 Isuzu Trooper. I'm the original owner, but now it has 182K miles and is definitely in the beater category, tee hee! I need it for hauling my art to exhibits and moving stuff around! It's on its second engine, runs great, needs some new shocks, though: BOUNCY BOUNCY!!! :eek2:

I’ve got a primer gray 88 S10 pickup. Driver’s side window is missing and needs a door, but it runs great.

Wife and I bought a used 03 Corolla a few months ago...it's taken a lot
of beating already (couple door dings at malls). I don't care. I washed the
car once since getting it over 5-6 months ago. Put a good coat of wax on
it though.

From what my buddies tell me, Toyota's last a long time. I will maintain
the mechanicals on the factory schedule and wash it after driving in salt,
but I really don't care how it looks as long as it looks and performs ok.

Having a beater is a great feeling. No worries. oh, and I bought
a sand metallic color so the dust spots don't show all that much.

i've got a '95 saturn 4-door. has about 152k on it no power anything and the radio only works every other day. it's my dog's favorite car because i don't care about it and he can crawl all over the inside (unlike the MCS). problem is now the saturn smells like dog:roll:

I thought snow-country people all had beat-up old Subarus to drive in the snow. How about an XT? Those things crack me up.

I think I want to get an old VW Golf or GTI... are those any reliable?
Old meaning like 94's 95's....

I've got a 91 Sentra SE-R as my autocrosser/beater. Picked it up last year for $900 which is a pretty good price for an SE-R. It looks like crap, but is fun to drive and is pretty quick. I've got a set of snows for it and with the factory limited slip diff, it is unstoppable in the snow!

my winter beater is actually my original car that isn't being used cuz my brother is to lazy to get his drivers license. it's a 1998 Pontiac Sunfire, 4-speed automatic, 115hp and 140ft-lbs out of a 2.2 liter I4. the only option it had was AC, which was used very very rarely (i prefer to drive with the windows open 10 months out of the year). the car is a piece, the day before i got my MCS it required $900 in repairs (brakes all around, front control arms, timing chain, and numerous other small mechanical defects). but it is perfect for winter abuse (i.e. 2 feet of snow, and some fun activities in empty parking lots:wink: )

When we get snow here

Mine is a 2WD 1986 Toyota PU with 300k+ miles (original engine) that cruises real nicely in the snow...and  magchloride:mad: Will not subject my MCS to that vile chemical. Jimbo
