GOLF V Euro NCAP Results

Nice. Very nice. Always nice to see a small(ish) (by american standards) car blowing away all previously tested cars in safety tests.
Edit:
In looking over the Euro NCAP site a little more it appears the Child Protection Rating is a relatively new test. For example in the category the Golf falls into small family cars, only four of the ~25 cars were tested for child protection. Even the new Audi A3 which doesn't even go on sale in the U.S. until May of 2005 didn't get the child protection test applied to it.
It's still nice to see the Golf testing well, but I'm not convinced the best "ever" tested label is entirely appropriate when the criteria for what constitutes the test just changed.

Well the MK4 Golf/Jetta have posted pretty good crash testing ratings in both IIHS and NHTSA tests; however overall body integrity is average:

I am sure the MK5 will be better, after all it is a redesigned car, heavier, etc. The MK4 is almost a 6 year old platform.
Best ever? That remains to be seen when IIHS puts it thru its paces.

...though I'm sure the Mk5's exudes amazing safety.
