Edit: Evidently someone finally wised up that their stupidity was being broadcast worldwide, and pulled the pictures and deleted the thread.

Just like the Beetle couldn't tow the Airstream trailer in the current crop of Touareg print ads, it's not too adept at wrenching a Jeep out of the snow, either. Especially when the half-wits tied the tow strap AROUND THE WINDSHIELD FRAME:

Nice. And the windshield header is part of the unibody, too. I wonder what they're going to tell the insurance company? A big thumbs-up to VW for reinforcing that sucker, though. Not that I would, but if I had tried that in my old LeBaron, it would have folded the windshield frame clean in half.

The original thread (with a few more pictures) can be found HERE.

Yeah, I saw that in the car lounge. Sad to think someone thought they could put the tie straps around the a-pillars without problems.

I saw someone strand a GMC Jimmy on my street in exactly this fashion. It was after a storm, when snow had been pushed up into a lot of the regular parking spaces, and the bozo figured he'd just park there anyway, by god. I didn't have the nerve to snap a picture.
