Similarly (from one of the guys from the Subaru board I still frequent who drives the MINI)

MCS vs. Lexus LS460

And the Lexus (ouch)

I believe the MINI won it in the first round with a knock out.

There's a bailout joke in here somewhere, but I'm too lazy to find it.

Yay Mini! Someone should link the expectant parents with Minis to this.

RJKimbell 11-25-2008 06:44 PM

So are they going to now say that the MINIs are a Safety Hazards to LARGER Vehicles??!! AND MINIs don't play well with others??!!

Scooner8 11-25-2008 07:13 PM

I went to see my MINI today (picking up tomorrow). My first impression coming out of the car and closing the door with solid "thud" quite like the older Mercedes was how well built the car felt. Now, looking at these photos, my impression's proving right. 19 hours to go

maacodale 11-25-2008 07:43 PM

That'll teach that big ol' SUV to try to intimidate a MINI!

RJKimbell 11-25-2008 07:48 PM

TKO...No Doubt!!

Very likely but how do you know if the Tahoe's wheels are in safe, driveable condition? If the weight of the SUV increased the shock of the impact on the wheels, I'd say the suspension might have taken some damage and might need to be replaced.

One case: I was driving home in my mom's Yukon one night. It was raining like you wouldn't believe. I ran over what I thought was a speed bump but it was a very shallow curb. The suspension was severely damaged to the point that the SUV spent a day or two in the repair shop. I was going only about 25 mph. The mechanics told me I should have stopped (yeah, in a hurricane-like pouring rain!) and called for a tow truck immediately.

LOL..... remove the T and add an L between the o and e and you get ahole in english!

Back to the subject, reminds me of when I got my first 02 MCS, I was at the dealer and there was a MCS that had been in a head on, no windshield break or doors that wouldn't open kind of damage and the dirver walked away, but the rep said the Mini hit a Ford 150 and the Ford was totalled! Tough little cars, kind of like a British Bulldog

That poor little car!

The link was broken, but I saw a description of a collision between a MINI and a Hummer. The MINI was ok, but the Hummer rolled twice. If this is true, I'd love to know more about it or see the photos.

With all the darn SUVs here in Texas, they always try to push me around. Riding all up on my boot. Grrrrr

Good to know that my Mini is so darn safe and can stand up to those huge eyesores.

Oxyblue, very encouraging to hear how strong our MINIs are. I feel better now. My mom can't verbally beat me over the head for owning a small car because I showed her the pic of the MINI that T-boned the Tahoe. However, it's still sad to hear that some people did get killed in the accident pictures you showed.
Just a thought: maybe we shouldn't post pics if we know someone died. Only post pics of accidents that resulted in injures. Mods, would you agree/disagree?
