Craziest thing you've seen during rush hour?

Was driving down the 101 out of San Mateo today. It was rush hour and I, as usual, expected it to be murder on the freeway. Looking over to my right, a guy in a Scion SUV was keeping up with the traffic, while slurping on a bowl of cereal!! WTF? Has society really become that stupid/ignorant? I've also seen a woman driving with her seat moved so far up that her chest was touching the steering wheel. How can she control her 4-door Yukon like that? Even NASCAR drivers don't sit that close to the wheel. People are crrraaazy!

Geez....dosen't he know they make cereal bars nowadays?? Sheesh...

Meanwhile In Southern California....

I got past a woman putting on mascara in the fast lane, and as I looked in the rearview mirror to watch the reaction on the car behind me that also passed her (on the right because she was driving so slow) I noticed the guy behind me was brushing his teeth with a toothbrush!!!

I wonder if they ever thought about setting their alarm clocks 15 or 20 minutes earlier....... nah that would be too easy and make the drive a lot safer for everyone.

Friend of mine took a photo of a woman TRIMMING HER BANGS in her rearview mirror. With a scissors. While driving.

Well...I looked over and saw my wife using "her imagination" as we drove down the 5. The lady next to us seemed to enjoy it as she swerved off the side of the freeway and almost clipped a barrier...

Also, I was on the 405 and I looked over and saw this 80 year old dude wearing one of those long aerodynamic speed helmets in his Lexus...:popcorn:

I have seen 2 biker chics on the back of 2 seperate Harleys make out. Kinda weird  and cool at the same time.

Saw a woman having a flesh popcicle in her boyfriends lap.

Along similar lines, saw a woman sitting on the lap of the guy behind the wheel. I guess she steered while he played the piston in the cylinder!

I once saw a guy driving while reading a newspaper that he'd propped against the steering wheel. Scary.

I, also, did not see this but we induced punishment abruptly when it was reported. My youngest step-daughter told us about how her older sister (who'd only had her driver's license for a couple of months) was texting on her cell phone while driving and weaving all over the road while doing it. It scared the living tar out of the younger one. The older one, of course being a teenager, started arguing that it "wasn't that bad and that she had everything under control the whole time". Right.

We responded by grounding her away from driving for a month, and telling her that if she EVER did it again that she would not be driving again ever. We mostly knew whether or not she did it afterwards because her sister was more than happy to rat her out and was with her the majority of the time.

I made a U-turn on the Queensboro Bridge once.

And drove downtown on 6th Ave in NYC. 6th Ave goes uptown, though.

I've also received a polishing while driving a few times. =o)

I used to see a middle aged man in a vette using an electric shaver almost every morning in rush hour traffic:nod:

Back in the Day I used to deliver electronics (stereo AV stuff) in Austin TX, it was a pretty tall truck. I seen a guy in a SUV "taking care of himself" . He noticed I noticed and kept at it "applying the hand polish". Wish they had cell phones with camaras back then.

At least we'll never have to encounter Mr. Bean on the road.

ktlong Oct 22, 2008 09:35 AM

The whole concept of doing what Mr. Bean did is frightening beyond words!
