I have to fill up tomorrow and this morning prices were above $4.50 for premium in CT.
Memorial day weekend was the last fill up and I put $62 in the tank.
(I'm not as bad off as my friend with a Golf TDI Diesel here is over $5/gal)

 

At almost 50 MPG (depending on which particular Golf model your friend has), I'm sure there are a lot of people out that that would happily take that kind of fuel economy, even if diesel is $5+/gallon.

I had to go out of my way a little to get $4.459, $4.50 was typical

The local news says the dealers aren't accepting trucks trade-ins right now. Trucks that bluebook for ~$7000-$8000 aren't getting ANY bids at the car auctions outside Hartford where the dealers sell the trade-ins

 

I paid $4.72 last night while I was driving through Oklahoma City.(93 octane...they didn't have 91) That was the 1st ethanol-free place I found. Indeed, assume the position.
