New Mini USA announcement

Yesterday I saw a post on MotoringFile.com about lower prices for many MINI models in 2021; I looked on miniusanews.com and they do have the info. Here are some links:
https://www.miniusanews.com/newsrele...?id=1189&mid=1
http://www.motoringfile.com/2020/06/...lowers-prices/

My question is: how soon will the 2021 models be available? I'm guessing that nobody here knows for sure, but perhaps people here have an idea based on prior years as to when the next year's models typically are available?

Of course, I realize that this year is an odd year and things may not follow the usual trajectory this year.

thanks.

the price changes I don't think make a big difference in the short term. If the 2021s are hitting the dealerships now, then there will be incentive for them to move the 2020s and that means some good opportunities for buyers.

I just bought a 2020 Cooper S this weekend and got a killer deal and they had 2021s on the lot.

I've noticed that the online configurator now allows a manual transmission to be spec'd (although the default spec includes the $1500 automatic transmission). Interestingly, a $1700 navigation package seems to be automatically specified - I couldn't find a way to deselect it. It only appears when you Review & Save your build.

So, while the base price of a 2021 Cooper S Classic is shown as $26,900 on the initial model selection page, the price immediately increases to $30,450 with these two pre-selected options, only one of which it appears can be deselected.

The USA configurator is pretty jacked up, and has been, it pretty much happens every model year it seems, despite the software program being basically the same thing for the last several years lol. The base price has indeed been lowered, and there are actually two Navigation packages for HT and Convertibles for 2021. The regular Navigation pack is $1,000 and includes a 6.5inch touchscreen, Apple CarPlay, and Real-time traffic info. The Navigation+ Package is about $1,700 and includes the larger 8.8inch touchscreen, Apple CarPlay, traffic info, and wireless phone charging. Also of note, 2021 Clubman and Countryman Signature and above trims come with Navigation included. We have a handful of 2021 HT and Convertibles at my dealer, and we have several 2021 Countryman at our port just waiting to ship. I build all our cars, so am excited to see one of the new F60's in person. But yeah, the configurator is a poor reference guide. If you want to see features, use the Canadian or British configurators (we use them all the time), and then contact your dealer if you want accurate pricing on what you built (you can e-mail a sales person or stop in with your specs).
