Trade VW for MINI
I have a 1971 Super Beetle for sale or trade. I really want a facelilft R53 stick. I'm in upstate NY.
My VW is in pretty good shape, and is driven every coupe of days. The reason I am parting with it is that my wife hates it and the kids don't really fit in the back seat lol.
It would be the perfect start for a German Looker type build.
Let me know what you have.

This is a 1302. AKA flat windshield super.
I'm tellin ya, this car is fun. Most VW snobs don't appreciate cars after '68. Having driven both I prefer the strut cars. They just stick to the road better.
I'm selling the car, but did not want to list it for sale here as this is not a VW site. The money is going towards a R53 anyways.

i started the audio install yesterday. Deck is in, need to source some speakers, and a hidden window mount antenna as ive deleted the stock ugly stick.
not mentioned in the ad, this car was completely restored 10 years ago. New paint, engine, and interior. Unfortunately, much of those new parts didnt age well from sitting.

I actually appreciate ALL of the older VW's (Type 1, 2, 3 and 4) - minus the new ones. I just like the looks of the 65 hardtop - much more rounded curves. I agree the struts performed better.
Incidentally, if you like the bug, you should drive the Fiat 500 - you'll love it! It's a bug with all the modern features (like heat and a/c).
