Just got back from a trip where I had to end up parking on the top floor of Central Parking at Logan. Last night when I was taking the looooooong hike to my car, I noticed no fewer than 8 MINIs scattered throughout the garage. All models (S, Cooper), a full range of colors...and got passed by an EB/W MCS that looked exactly like mine (only much cleaner). This, and the relatively large number that I see on the roads around here (most days I see at least 3 or 4, often more on weekends), is making me think that eastern MA/southern NH may be one of the most MINI-dense areas of the US. What do you think?

We have two dealerships close to each other.
MINI Peabody has been US #1 more than once so sells a lot of cars into the area. We suppose that the other guys sell some too.
Of course MINI Peabody sells into ME, NH, VT, CT, RI as well as MA, but many MINIs might end up closer rather than further from the dealership.

On the other hand, I bet there are lots of MINIs in New York and in the west coast cities too ...

I'm noticing more and more in metro-west and southern NH. There's even an LS/B with steel wheels and hub caps living about a mile from me now.

I live in Arlington, Texas...we have a MINI dealer right here, too (...which is one of several in the D/FW area). Anyway, that means one sees lots of MINIs in Arlington. One interesting thing I've noticed as an indicator of hard-core miniacs...the humble brake light mod! Its: 1)easy to do and; 2)something you'd probably only know of through the on-line or local MINI scene. If I see an extra set of brake lights, I know I've got a live one up ahead!!!!!

Boston is indeed being taken over by MINIs; it's great! There are now three others in my immediate neighborhood, including a brand new chili red S. I drive about 8 miles to work in Newton, and I routinely see around a half dozen a day now!

I've been parking at Alewife near an indi blue / white cooper... there are 3 or 4 other MINIs I see in the Alewife garage (only going up to the second floor) regularly.

^ Yes, Cambridge seems an especially MINI-rich environment.

It's neat to observe the increase in MINI numbers. When I first got mine nearly 2 years ago, I'd see maybe one a month...and finding another in a parking garage was cause for stopping and gawking.

I guess that the metro Boston area is also a good example of the most popular (not the exclusive, just most well represented) demographic for MINI. That is, relatively urban, relatively young, and higher than average formal education levels. We're a living and breathing target market (demographically speaking). :lol:

When I was visiting Boston last month I was surprised at the amount of MINI's I saw. But I guess the parking situation is made slightly easier with a small car like the MINI.

Boston has become the MECCA of MINIDOM.
I'll see between 3-6 daily on avg.
But I'm too old to catch them :roll:

When I was visiting my alma mater in Cambridge, there were indeed quite a few MINIs, along Mass Ave from Harvard Sqr through MIT and all the way to BU Med school. They're particularly popular with college students.

Even in the ‘burbs too – there’s another one just round the corner from me. Usually pass a few on the way into Boston in the mornings. Wave at a Chili/Blacktop coming the other way through Weston lots of days.

Was up at Mini Peabody yesterday and they said they’re shifting about 80 a month – as many as MINIUSA will send them. That’s nearly 1,000 a year.

The British are coming (to Boston once again)……

For the most part I,m the only MINI I see around here
75 -90 in the area ,,,but I live in the country,one other that I know of close by
WE are not crawling with MINI's here
would be fun to meet and run here :cool:

I've seen a bunch down there too. Not too many here in Maine yet but spring is slowly coming, I'm sure I'll be seeing more. Our closest dealership is Peabody...

there's 2 mini dealers within about 20 miles of each other where i am (about 25 miles north of nyc), and there's more and more minis showing up every week. people around here are fortunate enough to be able to go to their nearest dealer and pick up a mc or mcs right off of the sales floor!

I'm in SoCal and I see an average of 4 or 5 a day on my way to and from work. When I got here a year ago, it was rare to see even one a week...they've sure proliferated! Glad to hear that it's not just out here in the land of cars and trendiness...!

Just spent last weekend at my daughters on Concolor in Newton and we didn't see any Minis in Newton or on the very rainy trip up or back. MIINIKUPA was lonely. :???:

I think many of the urban areas with tight parking like Boston, Seattle, San Francisco, Chicago or Honolulu lend themselves to smaller nimble cars like the MINI. So no surprise if you spot them while motoring.

And the MINI makes for a good commuting car so I'd expect a few in rush hour and in the suburbs.
It's a bit pricey to find at your average high school parking lot. Maybe the upscale or private HS. :grin:

Hey, hey... I'm one of the Alewife MINIs and usually try to park near the blue/white S (dork). Only there on Tues. and Thurs. for school - now, not till Fall. But, was the VR/B.

I've only seen one other VR/B in the Cambridge/Boston area. She wouldn't wave. :grin: But, Boston is a good start.

I’d say less than 1/3 of MINI drivers I pass wave. I guess the car has got so popular, it doesn’t have an “enthusiast” feel to it any more. Shame. :sad:

BTW guys wave the most, gals never seem to wave…..
