RMW dyno tune in CT, April 11-14 sign up now.
When you got the light on what was the outdoor temp like? Was it a chilly day? I have had the same code come up and have found it to be temperature related. Seems that at 50 degrees or colder I can trigger the light. but if it's warmer everything is fine.
I'll be honest, I was hoping for a bigger HP number, but I'm good with it (for now). It can be a little frustrating seeing Mini's modded less than mine, pulling the same or bigger numbers.
But I know Jan did all he could. There's probably an issue that needs to be addressed somewhere that's not making itself known to me. The P2096 code that cropped up before has not returned, which I've read and been told is an intake or exhaust leak issue. Haven't had that verified by Warwick Mini, I guess they can perform a leak test. Also Jan wants me to find out how the header was bolted to the engine. He says it has a slight bend to it, so the 2 center bolts need to be bolted up first, and then the 2 outer bolts thereafter, thus creating a better seal.
The only other issue that needs addressed is replacing the first 02 sensor, already have the replacement here, but the port is too high up the header for me to reach it, and I'm a little scared (go ahead, flog me! lol) to get under the car with some jack stands. Plus my driveway has a slight incline, so that's also part of the reason. :/
I remember riding in minibuecabrio back when mine was tune....for an untuned car, it was a strong mini!! Awsome numbers with a tune! Congrats!!
I got my last belt installed last august (8months ago) and Jan stated it slipped over 6000rpm on my car when he was dyno-ing it. Well, for me, no big deal, I will change it very soon. I will be glad when my car will run perfectly!
For the tuning preparation of my car (60k miles), my MINI specialist garage (independent from the dealer) replaced the belt tensionner and the idler pulley. Both of them had bad bearings (worn and corroded). He showed me how were those pieces from my car versus brand new ones (how the bearings acted so different). I saw how my belt tensionner and idler pulley were in a bad shape. Also, he changed my clutch, timing shaft tensionner, lower engine mount and all the bushings. All those repairs may remove many parasites on the engine efficiency.
Mr Silverblood, could your supercharger be loosing its efficiency... I can't bring light on it. Or, maybe like my car, your car has engine parasites elsewhere (ie:belt tensionner, idler pulley).
Like you, I have to check up the O2 sensor (and the converter catalytic) on my car.

. But you were right, it was well worth it.
I am quite pleased with the results and kinda surprised by the numbers for just bolt on mods.
