RMW dyno tune in CT, April 11-14 sign up now.
No, I didn't. I decided to wait on that for now. I just got the car a month ago and between buying the car and the parts I've bought, money has been flying out of my account a little too quickly! Lol! So I had decided just to get the tune from Jan on the day of my tune and then probably I'll get the flash tool later on.
Well, I may not be attending afterall. I have been desperately trying to locate a Stratmosphere or Miltek exhaust prior to my tune, but both are sold out nationwide I'm told by the US distributor.
Anyone with a lead let me know!!!
I will confirm whether or not I can come in the next day or two, but it doesn't look good. And correct me if I'm wrong, but the tune won't be worth it if I know I'm gonna change the exhaust in a couple of months right? I was thinking I would then just go with Jan's "canned" tune for now and hopefully he will come this way again sometime and I can get the real deal when and if that happens.

This is killing me! I was so excited when I read about this tune day. It's finally close to my home and I HAVE OFF from work! Unfortunately I read this way too late and I have some major driveability issues that I need to work out and its just not enough time to get it done. What's everyones input on remote tunes vs. "live"? I probably won't have the car back running correctly for two weeks or so (depending on the amount of damage) and Jan most likely won't come back around here again for another year or so (I think I'm correct in that its been about that long since he last came to CT tri-state area, no?)
I am not sure if I can move my day up as I am waiting on others to help me install my DP / midpipe next week...hopefully Monday or Wednesday.
If anything, I'll get back to you on Monday if I can move my time slot up.

I am just removing you from Thursday. It looks like thurs. didn't fill up and we are asking folks to move to one of the other days. Since it is tentative, I am just clearing it off. I really hope it works out, otherwise, just do it when you can.
Lol, aren't you supposed to be tuning cars? It's nice to see you can multi-task. How is it going up north?

To everyone with work needed. Keep in mind this is a highly regarded full service speed shop. If you call them, maybe it will be easiest for you to have the work done there. I am sure they can handle it. Also, You will be surrounded by fellow mini folks and I am sure some can turn a wrench. Ask for volunteers, you may be surprised. Many will get greasy, just for fun.

Done. I am happy for you. This is going to be fun. I wish all the Rochester people would stop driving around and talk about their tune. I can't wait.

Don't forget, if possible, get there early in case things go faster, and it will let your car cool for better numbers.

I spoke to Jan briefly on the phone last week and he mentioned that I should probably do a seafoam treatment before my tune on Tuesday. I've been really busy lately and have never done one. I looked at some threads about it on here and it doesn't seem too difficult. I live in the city and park in a garage... I've seen that it produces quite a bit of smoke, my question is, if I drove out to CT a few hours earlier on tuesday, could I do a seafoam at Swift in the morning a few hours before my tune... would this be advisable, I was reading some posts and saw that people left their car to sit for a bit in between treatments.
Thanks for any info fellas.

A few people were doing that last year. Since you are going on tues try and get there in the morning and ask for Scott. He drives a black R56 with a camo roof and mirrors. He will help show you the ropes on the seafoam treatment. He goes by Scottab36 on here. not sure how late he will stick around tues.
Oh shoot, I wish I knew this earlier, I'm scheduled for 10am tomorrow.
Thought about doing Seafoam, but hadn't heard that I should do it before getting tuned, so I didn't bother to pick up a bottle.
I'm with you goth, I'd be really interested to know more details. If it's advisable to do the morning of a tune, I may get to Norwich early and do it there. But man oh man, the clock's ticking for me. eeeeeek!
