Hi NM MINI owners!

I will be driving to Albuquerque from Denver in my MINI for business at the end of the month and am planning a leisurely drive back to CO via Santa Fe and other places in northern NM. Can anyone there suggest a scenic route with lots of twisties?

Thanks.

Alan

Hi Alan,
Going from ABQ to Santa Fe you can try Hwy 14. Not the twistiest but very scenic w/some turns along the way. It'll take you through Madrid, NM which some find a rather quaintly interesting place. :)

All the best,

285 N. out of S.F. then left on to 64, past Chama turn right onto 84 to Pagosa Springs.
From Pegosa, depending on how much time you have, take 160 W to Durango then N. on 550 to Montrose, 50 to Poncha Springs, 24 N to 285 and follow that into west Denver. Or, go E on 160 to juncion back on to 285. We took the long route when we drove to MITM from La Junta except we stayed on 24 clear to I70. 550 is not to be left undone. Otherwise, just stay on 285 N out of S. F. and follow it all the way in. That long route though is unbelievable.

My enthusiasm for a repeat of that trip is held in check only by the anticipation of a few days in the Ozarks at MITO coming up soon.

One thing I neglected to add: http://www.motorcycleroads.us/index.html
This little jewel should be in every MINI motorist's favorites file or just left on the NAM Main Menu column. If you find a drive that is not listed, they welcome additions. Hope you have a great time on your drive back. From the looks of your ride, you'll have at least as much fun as we did.
