There are some Chinese based replacement units, installation seems to be not so simple. Something like this http://www.ebay.com/itm/Android-6-0-...-/112397505625

Good luck, be interested to hear how it works out.

This item is for a second gen MINI, not the F series cars.

Go to the website of that manufacturer and you will find an F series version.

Sorry to butt in but is there not an OEM solution? I'm sure its already been gone over but I am VERY new to the F56 so I am not sure of the terminology to even search for.

It's EXPENSIVE to retrofit. My dealer said its probably cheaper to buy a new Mini. Im sure they are being dramatic but I did a rough price out and it was well over $7k to get the OEM nav setup

Thanks so much for giving any kind of idea. I knew it would really be high but the canned response seems to be it would be cheaper to just buy a new car with those options. I want to ask if they've priced a new car with those options lately! Yes, a bit dramatic indeed.

Start trawling eBay. You will need the screen, head unit, touch controller, center instrument trim inserts, possibly center trim between the seat. If it's anything like when I retrofitted the OEM nav into my '09 R55, you may also need to build a few cables by hand.

If you're willing to do a lot of work and figuring it out yourself I suspect you could do the job for under $2000 in parts.

I would say to do another aftermarket unit would cost a few thousand in simple fabrication cost and then theres the issue of either losing the info center like most did in 2 gens, or the labor to relocate units and configure them. I may order the Nav unit and hope it comes with RCA outs for amplifiers so I can work from there.

if you mean the factory nav unit, it does not. This outfit sells adapter harnesses which you can use to tap into a factory unit without having to cut or splice the factory wiring:
