No CD Player!

It took me two days to realize my new MINI didn't come with a CD player! Duh.

Well yeah! Say you go to a club and you like the band and buy one of their CDs. How are you going to listen to your new CD on the way home without a CD Player?

Buy it from the all knowing Amazon and instant download MP3. Of course unknown bands maybe not!

I haven't played a CD in my car in probably 10 years. I don't think I've played one at home in that time either. I'm actually moderately surprised it's still an option in any modern car. Mine has one, but I couldn't tell you for certain if it even works or not. I've never tried it.

You can get a glove box mounted CD player, but yes the CD player is a thing of the past. I remember the Gen 1 MINI tape deck, mini disk...etc

6 disc F56+

Tape Deck R50-R53

[QUOTE=ECSTuning;4297761but yes the CD player is a thing of the past.[/QUOTE]That's a hard concept to accept. My 2nd car, a '63 E type roadster had a 4 track tape player.

Yes it's hard to accept. I like the CD player but MINI has decided to go the usb and Bluetooth route. Would love to see pictures of that E type with the 4 track player.

Love this old school stuff.

More than that, would love to still have that E type with the updated 8 track. Keying in last night's I had the thought of an old Hudson with a 78 RPM then you posted that 'old school' machine.

This whole thing triggered my ol' memory cell. I remember dad having a 16 RPM player and looked it up and found this:
