2013 Countryman no audio
 

I have 2013 countryman with the h/k stereo and speakers. Recently the audio went completely out, so I did some searching around and found the amp is properly fried. So I got another one off of ebay (way cheaper than a new one from the dealer). Anyway with the new one the audio comes on when it wants to. I can drive to work it'll come on and ten minutes later there's no sound at all. Then some days it'll work every time the car comes on and other days there's nothing at all. My questions are has anyone else had this problem? Is there a module that could be failing? Is there a way to reset the audio for the car besides pulling the fuse? Mini keeps telling me to bring it in but the nearest dealer is five hours away.
