'05 Mini Cooper Rear Spkr Size

NAM Community;

Have been getting conflicting info on the exact size of my 05 Mini Cooper (non S., Aug 05 build) rear spkrs.....Mini says their 6's, Crutchfield says no, they're not....nobody it seems can provide a definitive answer.....

Since NAM is all about real world experience, who out there in NAM Land has replaced their late 05 stock rears w/ aftermarkets ??

Thanks in advance.....

I heard that you can fit 6x9's in the rear, but that it comes with 6's....

I can't back that up though, as i said its hearsay.

they are 6x9's

the basket size is a little smaller than your standard 6x9, but its not a 6x8

i was able to sink in some infinitys with the screws, and it mounted flush, just takes some tome to make it sink into the hole.

Kappas??? If so, hows it sound? I can't wait to put Kappa's back in my MINI, used to have them in my first car which was a civic. Great crisp sound!

Reference, Kappas arent worth the extra money, its all just hype.

They run about $129 bucks at Circuit City, then get adapters at Crutchfied.

yeah, but i dont trust audio equipment off ebay.

besides, from CC i can get a protection plan for 2 years, im on my 3rd set of 6 1/2 inch front speakers already!

Besides, the kappas arent needed unless you plan on using something like a 2 channel amp on them, the RMS too high not to be amped....

reference is the best way to go, all around.
