1. Disconnect iPod from cable
2. Remove battery cables, negative first
3. Touch battery cable terminals together (away from battery) for +5 seconds, a small spark is normal as this is stored power draining from the system.
4. Allow cables to remain disconnected for about 5-7 minutes
5. Reconnect battery cables onto battery, negative last.
6. Reboot iPod by pressing on MENU and CENTER buttons for +5 seconds and then reconnecting to the DICE cable after the reboot process is completed.
Let me know if these steps correct the problem

different wiring harness??
I tried to install my DICE kit from eas tonight, but the wiring harness included with the kit did not match the wiring harness for my stock head unit.
I have an '03 MCS, my head unit looks just like this one: http://www.flickr.com/photos/psbales...7594564225331/
Has anyone else ordered the DICE for an '03 and had this trouble?

Here's an update from my previous installation back on page 5: https://www.northamericanmotoring.co...&postcount=107
I grew tired of the Dension continually needing to be reprogrammed. It would lose its settings every couple of weeks and need to be reprogrammed via the clumsy Dension menu which is navigated via the MINI stereo buttons. When it would lose its "simple iPod" setting it would revert to text only with no artwork displayed. In addition, the text would show up on my new iPod Classic as about 6pt. size. Add to this that there was a variable lag time between input on the stereo buttons and the menu on the iPod through the Dension software while reprogramming, and it added up to some major frustration usually just before a long trip when I would be itching to get on the road.
I changed to the Dice interface which is not as mechanically elegant, or as nice looking as the Dension, but it works a lot better for me since I like to run my iPod in the "simple" mode.
This shows the changes in the new left-hand Dice bracket versus the old right-hand Dension bracket.
The bracket in its final finished state:
And the final installation:
The left hand location gave a bit more room for the bigger Dice cradle and allowed me to locate the iPod where it's a bit more visible. It also gave a little more room for the airflow from the right A/C vent.
The Dice has been installed for about 5 months and I haven't had any problems other than the connection between the cable and the cradle working loose a couple of times. Best of all was the old school method of switching to "Simple iPod" mode; the flip of a single dip switch. To the best of my knowledge, a mechanical switch has never had to be reprogrammed or rebooted.

Ok so my iPod mount is a bit different since I only use a shuffle.
Most of the time I listen to XM with the iPod and a cd to switch to when nothing is on XM.
I made a dogleg out of aluminum mounted it behind the xm mount and screwed them to the dash. The iPod slips over the aluminum. Its right at my fingertips and doesn't block anything. The wires run between the dash and the knee bolster to the aux input which is inside the dash.

OEM MIN I POD INTERFACE ONLY READS TRACKS
Hey crew check it out. I have a OEM Mini I pod interface unit. It only reads
tracks. Its dealer install. Car is 2006 production. Does any out there have later 2006 or early 2007 early body. with a Factory unit. thats actually shows the description of the artist and the title I am curious. I drove a friends late 2006 Cooper S. it shows the song titles and artist. I am wondering if there is
a later. OEM interface that has this capability.
Thanks Guido.

Ijet Ipod Remote
I use the Ijet Ipod remote control...Ipod can be hidden somewhere, and the remote works via radio wave, not IR. They work on Classic, Video and I think the Nano. Is about 33 US dollars shipped from Amazon.com --just a (cheap) suggestion for changing tracks. I keep mine on shuffle and during a 3 hr commute, i just click past songs I don't want to hear.
